The Unsung Hero award was sponsored by Orlo at Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s annual awards ceremony on Friday the 10th of November.
Held at Burgess Hall in St Ives, the black-tie event included food, drinks, music and presentations of awards by Chief Constable, Nick Dean.
Attendees heard stories of exceptional performance, professionalism and commitment, and saw those rewarded who had gone above and beyond the call of duty to help protect the people of Cambridgeshire.
The winner of the Unsung Hero award was PC Justin Beilawski. His normation read:
“Justin leads by example, setting the benchmark for the team to follow and has the highest outcomes in terms of engagement and targeted activity. His ability to develop and maintain key relationships in the community has contributed significantly to making Wisbech a safer place to live, work and visit.”
Orlo’s Senior Customer Success Manager for Emergency Services Services commented:
“Orlo takes great pride in supporting policing, recognising the importance of celebrating those who go above and beyond. We congratulate Justin on his outstanding efforts to communicate to the local community he serves and creating those key relationships, something we at Orlo also pride ourselves on.”
Chief Constable Nick Dean told attendees: “The passion, commitment and work ethic of officers, staff and volunteers in Cambridgeshire never fails to impress me, and I’m thrilled to be recognising some of this work at the awards.
“My thanks and gratitude also go to all our sponsors who helped fund this event. We wouldn’t be able to make it happen without their support.”
The event also raised more than £521 for the charity COPS (Care of Police Survivors), as chosen by staff, through a raffle of prizes donated by the award sponsors and companies the force has worked with over the past year. For more on the awards, visit Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s website.
