We’re looking for a motivated graduate to join our team for a 2 week Digital Marketing Work Experience placement. You will play a supporting role in various marketing projects, gaining hands-on experience in SEO, GEO, content, paid advertising, and data administration, working closely with the wider Marketing team.
Reporting directly to the Digital Marketing Manager, this work experience placement offers hands-on learning as part of the Marketing team, with two days per week in our Birmingham HQ and the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.

Key Learning Projects and Tasks:
- Perform an internal link audit to identify orphaned pages and suggest linking opportunities.
- Conduct a competitor content gap analysis using Semrush to inform strategic content planning.
- Audit all blog meta titles and descriptions for missing, duplicate, or over-length issues.
- Research and compile a list of unanswered FAQ questions per sector using tools like Answer the Public, Reddit, Quora, and Google’s People Also Ask.
- Conduct an alt text audit of all site images for accessibility compliance and image SEO.
- Manually test target keywords in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Copilot to monitor Orlo’s appearance and content summary (AI answer monitoring).
- Research competitor Google Ads copy (headlines, descriptions, and CTAs) for US local government terms using the Google Ads Transparency Centre.
- Ensure the Hubspot database is up to date with prospect incumbent and renewal information.
Preferred skillset for this role includes:
- A current student of a degree in Marketing or Business, or a recent graduate.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles (on-page SEO, keywords, metadata, internal linking)
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, or platforms like Semrush (academic or personal use is fine)
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable using spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) to organise and analyse data
- Awareness of content marketing and how users search for information online
- Interest in AI-driven search (e.g., ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews) and how it impacts marketing
- Strong written communication skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and manage tasks
