Staff members from the UK’s leading digital engagement platform, Orlo, joined forces to Race Against Santa during the second national lockdown to keep fit and raise £560 for Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals Charity and Birmingham Mind.
The challenge was to exercise a total of 3278km collectively, the distance it would take for Santa to reach Orlo HQ in Birmingham from Lapland, between 2nd November and 24th December.
“I’m thrilled with the determination and dedication the participants have shown in the Race Against Santa challenge”, said Phil Evans, Managing Director at Orlo. “It’s so important we not only look out for each other in terms of our physical and mental health, but that of the Birmingham community we’re so proud to be a part of too.”
“We want to thank Orlo for choosing to support us at this time of year”, said Helen Wadley, CEO of Birmingham Mind. “We are truly grateful and we wish all the participants the best of luck with the Race Against Santa Challenge. We will ensure that the money raised is used to benefit people who are struggling with or who are at risk from mental health difficulties.”
Helen Miles, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re so grateful the fantastic team at Orlo have been willing to step up and support our charity this Christmas, especially after the tough year we’ve all had. The funds they’ve raised for us will go towards helping us do more for the women, babies, children and families in our care, and supporting the incredible work of NHS heroes across the Trust.”
