Our Orlo Tour events will explore each of these areas in depth, demonstrating how they can help public sector organisations strengthen connections with their audiences.

Orlo’s BIG Social 2024

October 2024 and Orlo hosted its third and biggest BIG Social yet, bringing together the nation’s vibrant community of public sector communications professionals for an unforgettable day. Held on Tuesday, 22nd October, at Birmingham’s iconic Hippodrome, the event welcomed nearly 200 attendees for inspiring sessions, thought-provoking discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.

Comms teams from healthcare, housing, local and central government, policing, education, transport, and more gathered to reflect on the year’s challenges and share ideas for the future. Against a buzzing backdrop, the day centred around this year’s vital theme: rebuilding trust to strengthen communities. With trust in public institutions at a critical juncture, the BIG Social 2024 was a powerful reminder of the crucial role comms teams play in shaping a brighter, more connected future.

Orlo’s UK Tour 2024

Throughout 2024, Orlo hit the road for its highly anticipated UK Tour, connecting with the nation’s public sector communications professionals in a series of impactful regional events. Spanning major cities – Glasgow, Manchester, and London – the tour provided attendees with an unmissable opportunity to explore key topics shaping the future of public sector comms. Teams from healthcare, housing, local and central government, policing, education, transport, and beyond came together in their local regions to reflect on their communities’ challenges, share innovative ideas, and discover solutions to pressing communication issues.

With the overarching theme of “Trust… The key to stronger and more resilient communities,” the tour focused on the growing need to re-establish public confidence in institutions. Each stop featured interactive workshops, and thought-provoking talks from sector leaders, fostering collaboration and sparking new strategies to strengthen communities across the UK.
