AI that helps you write.
Never AI that decides what you say.
Draft, reword, hashtag and caption social content inside the Orlo Composer. The AI does the groundwork. A named person still presses publish.
Built for the public sector
We’re proud to be the community engagement platform of choice, trusted by 400+ public sector organisations from emergency services, to local and central government, housing and healthcare, to education, and travel and transport.
AI that sounds like you, not like everyone else
Every platform has AI now. The real question is not whether it can write a caption. It is whether the output sounds like your organisation, meets the accessibility duties you are held to and leaves a trail you can defend if someone asks. Orlo’s AI content creation tools sit inside the publishing workflow your team already uses, so nothing reaches your community unless somebody accountable chooses to send it.
Social media post creation
If you have used an AI caption generator before, Composer’s post creation works the same way, except every draft lands inside your existing approval workflow.
Give it a topic or a prompt and AI drafts the copy directly in the Composer. No starting point? It suggests content ideas. Output lands as editable text, so you shape it before anything is scheduled. The draft then inherits the rest of your workflow: split posting per channel, approval routing and campaign tagging. It is an assistive drafting layer, not an autonomous publisher, which matters when every post carries your organisation’s name.
Rewording
Rewrite existing copy for clarity, tone or length while keeping the message intact, so one approved message can be re-versioned rather than written from scratch. Two practical wins. First, it works with split post mode, so a single message is tailored per channel against different character limits and audience conventions. Second, it removes a hard platform constraint: networks limit the reach of identical or near-identical posts repeated in a short window, so a team pushing the same critical update out several times during an incident risks being treated as duplicate or automated activity. Rewording produces genuine variants, keeping repeat messaging visible and your account in good standing.
Hashtags
Contextually relevant hashtags generated at the point of composition to improve discoverability and reach. Accept them, edit them or throw them away.
Alt text
AI reads your uploaded image and writes descriptive alt text, supported on Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and Nextdoor. It pairs with two controls that turn good intentions into practice. Alt Text Required blocks publication of any media post without alt text. Asset-level alt text stored in the Asset Library auto-attaches whenever that image is reused in the Composer. The AI removes the friction that makes busy teams skip alt text. The setting removes the option to skip it.
Built to the high standards you are judged against
Your organisation carries the accountability for AI, not your supplier. So we built the controls around four things you can evidence.
Scope
Each AI function does a defined job inside a defined workflow. There is no open-ended chat window pointed at your data. Narrow scope is what makes assurance possible.
Data
Isolated model deployment, no third-party model training or storage and UK data residency. Backed by ISO 27001, ISO 22301, Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and SOC 2, and procurable through G-Cloud 14 and CCS.
Decision
AI drafts and suggests. A person edits, approves and publishes. That maps directly onto the meaningful human control principle in the Government Digital Service AI Playbook, so your governance paperwork can lift the language straight from the way the product actually works.
Evidence
The AI sits inside a platform with approval workflows, Social Media History Audit and message redaction, so what you did and who signed it off is recoverable.
How Orlo’s AI compares with generic tools
Generalist AI writing tools are built to help a brand sell. Orlo’s AI content tools are built for a named person to be accountable for what publishes.
| Generic AI writing tools | Orlo AI for content | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Private sector brand copy | Public sector communications, inside your approval chain |
| Drafting grounded in | The open internet | Your Composer workflow, brand voice and past posts |
| Publishing route | Copy and paste, outside your own tools | Draft lands in Composer and inherits your approval routing |
| Accessibility | Alt text is a manual afterthought | Alt Text Required blocks publishing without it |
| Repeat and incident messaging | No protection against duplicate-post penalties | Rewording creates genuine variants that stay visible |
| Compliance | Standard data handling | UK data residency, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, SOC 2 |
| Procurement | Standard commercial process | G-Cloud 14, CCS |
| Human control | Varies by vendor | AI drafts, a named person publishes |
It works where your team already works
No separate licence. No copying and pasting citizen-facing copy into a consumer AI account. No context switching between a chat tool and your calendar. Content AI is in the Composer, alongside the Draft Library for repeat and incident messaging, the Asset Library, split posting across 10 plus networks including Nextdoor, and the approval chain your governance team already accepted.

Questions we get asked (FAQ)
Does the AI publish anything on its own?
No. Every draft, rewrite, hashtag set and alt text suggestion arrives as editable text for a person to accept, change or reject. Publishing sits behind your existing approvals.
Will the AI sound like us?
It gives you a starting draft, not a finished post. Teams get the best results by treating it as a first pass and applying their own tone. Rewording is designed for exactly that loop.
Do we have to turn it on for everyone?
No. AI is enabled at organisation level, so you decide when and for whom.
