The closing date for submissions is Tuesday, the 22nd of September 2026.

Shortlisted entries will be announced on Thursday, the 1st of October 2026. Winners will be announced during the Spotlight Awards Ceremony, taking place alongside Orlo’s BIG Social 2026 on Thursday, the 22nd of October 2026, at Eastside Rooms, Birmingham.

With so many competing priorities, having the right data to inform and back up your comms and corporate strategy has never been more important, especially when time, resources and budget are being squeezed. Your entry should showcase how you’ve used data – whether that’s demographics intel, information on channel usage or emerging themes and trends data. What impact has that insight had on your comms strategy and the community you serve?

This award recognises the campaign that has truly achieved something great on social. Has your organisation stepped outside of its comfort zone and tried something new or delivered a show-stopping campaign that your community has loved? Perhaps your campaign has driven significant community engagement, results and behaviour change. Share details of the campaign plan, execution, and the results.

The impact that comms and the role social media play in genuinely impacting communities can often be overlooked. This award recognises the positive impact that it can have – perhaps you’ve supported local businesses during the cost of living crisis, helped combat homelessness in your community, or helped fostering initiatives in your area. Share details of how your activities have had a wider effect in your community.

Know someone in your organisation, whether a rising star or a seasoned pro, whose passion and dedication shine through in everything they do? We’re seeking nominations for a comms hero – someone who has helped take things to the next level and made a real difference in someone’s time of need. Share with us why you think this person should be named Unsung Hero of the Year.

Having the right people, with the right skills and expertise, is a recipe for success. Reckon you and your team have smashed it when it comes to delivering show-stopping campaigns, seamless customer experiences or nailing community engagement over the past 12 months? To enter this award, share details of the work you’ve been doing, the strategy behind your activities and the successes you’ve had as a team.

When a crisis hits, even the best-made plans can often need adapting, with comms teams forced to think on their feet. This award recognises those who have thrived under crisis conditions and have harnessed the power of social media and the digital channels at their disposal to combat misinformation, inform and educate the public and ultimately, keep people safe. Share details of the crisis you faced, your approach to deal with it and the results.

Has your organisation transformed its approach to customer contact across social and digital channels to deliver a seamless community experience? Whether you’ve introduced a new process, tool or strategy, winners of this category will have worked tirelessly to improve community experience and increase satisfaction. Getting to know your community and how best to engage with them plays a key role in building trust within the community. The winners of this award will have identified key themes and trends in their audiences’ conversations, with the help of social and digital tools, and used this information to plan, tailor and target their comms strategy. Who can submit entries?

The Orlo Spotlight Awards are open to all Orlo customers, and entries can be submitted by anyone from these organisations.

Is there an entry fee?

There’s no fee to enter the Orlo Spotlight Awards.

What format should my entry be in?

Entries can be in either video or written format. Video entries should be no longer than 3 minutes. You’ll also have the opportunity to submit a note of up to 250 words to accompany your video entry for added context. Written entries should be no more than 1,000 words. Please ensure your entries share any associated results and top stats to support your submission.

How do I submit an entry?

Can we enter multiple categories?

You’re free to enter multiple categories but you must create separate entries for each category you wish to be entered for.

How are winners selected?

Entries will be reviewed and judged based on each category’s criteria by a selection of Orlo’s internal and external experts.
